Eat healthily, enjoy consciously
Healthy and balanced diet
A varied diet ensures energy, well-being and health - with the right mix of macro and micronutrients.
A balanced intake of nutrients and energy is essential for health and wellbeing. Energy requirements depend on factors such as age, gender, body type and level of activity. On average, an adult needs between 1,700 and 2,000 calories per day. Consuming more calories than are expended can lead to weight gain, while an energy deficit can result in weight loss.
In addition to energy balance, it is important to consume vital macro and micronutrients. Carbohydrates can be found in pasta, rice, bread and cereals; proteins in meat, fish, eggs and cheese; and fats in vegetable oils and butter. Micronutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, support growth and the production of hormones and enzymes, and are mainly acquired through fruit and vegetables.
