The purpose of the Consorzio Tutela Speck Alto Adige is to safeguard and showcase the quality of Speck Alto Adige PGI. This is achieved through three important functions:
Quality policy
The Consortium defines the criteria( of)for the entire production process and supervises the production techniques envisaged by the production protocol recognized by the European Union. In this way the product’s authenticity and quality are safeguarded.
Brand safeguarding
The brand is the quality seal of Speck Alto Adige PGI. The Consortium’s task is to monitor the market, verifying that the name “Speck Alto Adige PGI” is used correctly and taking the appropriate legal actions when, for example, unbranded speck is given the name "Speck Alto Adige PGI" (Protected Geographical Indication).
Promotions
The Consortium promotes a vast range of marketing and communication events aimed at increasing brand recognition and product awareness. This range includes press releases, TV and radio campaigns, promotional and sale activities, public relations and participation in sector fairs.
